The WMCC is always looking for folks that want to do more for their community.  Whether it be a leading your own group, to volunteering during First Friday, to serving on our Board of Directors. Since we are a 100% volunteer run organization, we have no staff, which means we rely on YOU to be the change you want to see in your community!

How do I get more involved?

If you want to be more involved, you may want to consider being on the WMCC Board of Directors!

The Board of Directors is comprised of up to 13 members of the WMCC Community.  Any WMCC community member can be on the WMCC Board of Directors, however, we are looking for applicants that can:

• Be motivated and self driven to make their vision for the WMCC happen.
• Volunteer a minimum of 5 to 10 hours a month to the WMCC.
• Commit to helping with various fundraising events.
• Demonstrate sound judgement and fiscal responsibility in order to ensure that the WMCC continues to thrive.

Potential board members are elected once a year at our Annual Community Board Meeting, where the community gets to vote on new board members.  This is usually held in the early spring.  Refer to our Facebook Page for when the Annual Community Board Meeting is scheduled.  

In the event that we have open seats on the board in the middle of the year, the remaining members of the WMCC Board of Directors can vote on interim board members at any point.  The interim board members will serve out the rest of that year till the next Annual Community Meeting, where they placed on the board slate and the community can vote.

Once on the Board, Board Members then serve for a 2 year term. With that said, Board Members can step down at anytime if they so wish.  The Board of Directors Leadership Team is then voted on by the WMCC Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors Leadership Team consists of the Chair-person (people), Secretary, and Treasurer.
